We Mobilized Our Advanced Data Analytics Capabilities to Support the Global Fight Against Wildfires

Our AI-based project “FireAId,” led by Koç Holding and developed to combat the increasing frequency and severity of wildfires due to the climate crisis, was showcased as a best practice at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The WEF’s special report titled “The Next Frontier in Fighting Wildfires: FireAId Pilot and Scaling” highlighted FireAId as a critical platform that leverages data-driven AI technology to support institutions and governments in wildfire response.

In a special panel at the Davos Summit, Koç Holding CEO Levent Çakıroğlu stated:
"With the dedicated efforts of our colleagues at KoçDigital and in collaboration with the General Directorate of Forestry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, we launched the FireAId project. Through this initiative, we are leading a vital global effort on the WEF’s AI and Machine Learning Platform in San Francisco. We must recognize the growing number of wildfires as a new global challenge, one of the most visible consequences of the climate crisis. We place digital transformation at the core of our business strategies."

Supporting the Global Fight with Our Advanced Data Analytics Capabilities
In the FireAId project, we utilize over 400 variables from 14 different datasets to help public institutions make data-driven decisions in wildfire management.
